Farmers Protest Over Pending Atal Bhujal Yojana Subsidy in Rajasthan

Farmers in Hanumangarh held a tractor rally recently. They want the government to pay pending subsidies for diggis built under Atal Bhujal Yojana. Protesters went through police barricades. They are frustrated by the money problems caused by unpaid dues of ₹3 lakh per pond.

Payment Issues and Farmer Demands

Official data shows 410 diggis were approved for 2025-26, after 829 sanctions in 2024-25. Farmer leaders say they took loans to build these ponds. Many farmers are now struggling to pay interest on those loans.

Farmers have warned they will increase their protests. They also plan to oppose BJP candidates in local body elections if the government does not pay the subsidy amount right away.
