FTSC Scheme Extended to 31 March 2031, Courts to Rise to 850
On 4 November 2026, the Union Cabinet approved continuing the Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) Scheme from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031, with courts set to rise from 779 to 850.
The five-year extension has a total outlay of ₹3,788.04 crore: ₹2,353.15 crore from the Centre, funded through the Nirbhaya Fund, and ₹1,434.89 crore from States/UTs. FTSCs handle pending rape cases and sexual offence cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
