MSME ministry seeks ₹6,000 crore for khadi scheme
MSME ministry has sought ₹6,000 crore to continue Khadi Gramodyog Vikas Yojana for five years through March 2031, according to people aware of the development. A government official said discussions on continuing the scheme are ongoing.
The proposed outlay would support artisans, mainly women, unemployed rural youth, self-help groups and village industries. The scheme has two parts: Khadi Vikas Yojana promotes and develops khadi, while Gramodyog Vikas Yojana supports village industries with common facilities, technology upgrades and training.
