[Rs. 51000] PM Shaadi Shagun Yojana for Muslim Girls - Application Form / Eligibility

PM Shadi Shagun Yojana (शादी शगुन योजना) is a centrally sponsored scheme which got approval from the central cabinet. Under Shadi Shagun Yojana, all graduate Muslim girls were entitled to get benefits of up to Rs. 51,000 as a wedding gift. Muslim girls completing their graduation in any stream before marriage were eligible to get the Shaadi Shagun Yojana benefits.

Scheme has been closed or it was a one time scheme which has been closed by the government.

Shadi Shagun Yojana was proposed by the Maulana Azad Education Foundation to the government. The scheme was approved by the Ministry of Minority Affairs. The scheme was aimed at encouraging higher education among minority groups. The scheme by the Narendra Modi government was a step to motivate girls for higher education, especially from the Muslim community.

Many girls from minority communities do not get the chance to complete their graduation and get married before completing the age of 18 years. Keeping in view the education of Muslim girls, the central government, on the recommendation of MAEF, decided to launch Shadi Shagun Yojana.

Shadi Shagun Yojana for Rs. 51,000

The main aim of Shadi Shagun Yojana was to motivate girls from minority groups to pursue higher education. The situation of education among Muslim girls is not very good, but this step of MAEF and the central government was expected to help achieve the target. All those girls who got the Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship were to get Rs. 51,000 on their marriage under Shaadi Shagun Yojana.

Shaadi Shagun was an additional component added to the existing Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship that is given to meritorious girl students belonging to six notified minority communities: Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis.

Eligibility for Shadi Shagun Yojana

The basic eligibility criteria for getting Rs. 51,000 under Shadi Shagun Yojana were as follows:

• Only Muslim girls were eligible to take the scheme benefits.
• Girls had to complete their graduation before marriage to be eligible for this scheme.
• A graduation degree passed from a recognized university or college was required for the scheme.
• Girl students getting the Begum Hazrat Mahal scholarship funded by the Maulana Azad Foundation were also eligible for the scheme.

Shadi Shagun Yojana Application Form - Apply Online

There is no information available about applications for Shadi Shagun Yojana on any government portal. Shadi Shagun Yojana applications were expected to be invited through online mode through a dedicated web portal. Maulana Azad Education Foundation was preparing a dedicated web portal for Shadi Shagun Yojana to provide information about the scheme.

However, it was never clear whether applications for the scheme would be invited through online or offline mode. All information about Shadi Shagun Yojana applications was to be updated once the scheme was launched. Since the scheme has been closed, no application process is available now.

केंद्र सरकार ने लड़कियों की सुरक्षा, पोषण, उच्च शिक्षा आदि के लिये कई योजनाएं बनाई हैं. इन योजनाओं में शादी शगुन योजना भी शामिल है. SSY को देश के अल्पसंख्यक समुदाय की लड़कियों में उच्च शिक्षा को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से शुरू किया गया है. पीएमएसएसवाई योजना में शादी से पहले स्नातक की पढ़ाई पूरी करने वाली अल्पसंख्यक समुदाय की युवतियों को मोदी सरकार 51,000 रुपये देती है. देश में अल्पसंख्यक समुदाय में मुस्लिम समुदाय की आबादी सबसे अधिक है. अल्पसंख्यक समुदाय में खासतौर पर मुस्लिम समाज में लड़कियों में उच्च शिक्षा की स्थिति बहुत ख़राब है.

मुस्लिम समुदाय की लड़कियों में उच्च शिक्षा को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से केन्द्रीय अल्पसंख्यक मंत्रालय के तहत कार्यरत संस्थान मौलाना आज़ाद शिक्षा फाउन्डेशन ने शादी शगुन योजना का प्रस्ताव रखा है.

अल्पसंख्यक मंत्रालय द्वारा प्रस्ताव पास होने के बाद प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 8 अगस्त 2017 को शादी शगुन योजना लांच की. इस योजना का मकसद मुस्लिम लड़कियों और उनके अभिभावकों को इस बात के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना है कि लड़कियां विश्वविद्यालय या कॉलेज स्तर की पढ़ाई पूरी कर सकें.

शादी शगुन योजना (पीएमएसएसवाई) का लाभ उन्हीं मुस्लिम लड़कियों को मिलता है, जिन्होंने स्कूली स्तर पर बेगम हजरत महल राष्ट्रीय छात्रवृत्ति हासिल की है. बेगम हजरत महल राष्ट्रीय छात्रवृत्ति मुस्लिम, इसाई, सिख, बौद्ध, जैन और पारसी समुदाय की लड़कियों को दी जाती है.

क्या है शादी शगुन योजना (SSY) का उद्देश्य?

शादी शगुन योजना के तहत जो मुस्लिम लड़कियां शादी से पहले स्नातक की पढ़ाई पूरी कर लेंगी, उन्हें मोदी सरकार शादी में शगुन के रूप में 51,000 रुपये देती है. शादी शगुन योजना का उद्देश्य मुस्लिम समाज के अभिभावकों को लड़कियों की उच्च शिक्षा के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना है.

कौन उठा सकता है शादी शगुन योजना (SSY) का लाभ?

शादी शगुन योजना का लाभ उन्हीं मुस्लिम लड़कियों को मिलता है जिन्होंने स्कूली स्तर पर बेगम हजरत महल राष्ट्रीय छात्रवृत्ति हासिल की होंगी. इसके बाद स्नातक की पढ़ाई पूरी करना भी अनिवार्य है. SSY का लाभ उठाने के लिए लड़की का मुस्लिम समुदाय से होना जरूरी है. शादी शगुन योजना का लाभ उठाने के लिए स्नातक की पढ़ाई किसी मान्यता प्राप्त कॉलेज से की जानी चाहिए. मुस्लिम लड़की भारत की नागरिक हो. लड़की के माता-पिता की सालाना आमदनी दो लाख रुपये से अधिक नहीं हो.
