Three old age pension schemes are available for senior citizens in the state: Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Samagra Social Security Vridhavastha Pension Yojana and Samagra Social Security Vridhashram Nivasrat Antvasi Pension Yojana. This article explains the application process, eligibility, pension amount and required documents for all three.
MP Vridha Pension Yojana Overview
All three schemes are meant for different groups of elderly people. Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme is for senior citizens from families living below the poverty line, while Samagra Social Security Vridhavastha Pension Yojana is for destitute elderly persons. The third scheme covers inmates living in old age homes recognized by the department.
Pension is paid directly to the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT. In January 2026, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav transferred ₹327 crore to more than 54 lakh beneficiaries in a single click, which shows that the pension system in the state is fully digital.
