Haryana Government has launched the “Mahila Sanskritik Kendra” initiative, aiming to establish cultural centers in every village for empowering women and reviving local traditions. These centers will not only preserve Haryana’s rich folk culture but also provide rural women with new opportunities for learning, art, and self-reliance.

Introduction to Mahila Sanskritik Kendra

On the auspicious occasion of the Teej festival (28 July), Haryana organized district-level celebrations filled with folk music, dance, mehndi, and traditional rituals. What made this year’s Teej unique was the inauguration of Mahila Sanskritik Kendras (Women’s Cultural Centers) across various villages, marking a major step towards social empowerment and women’s dignity in the state.

The state government highlighted the importance of cultural identity and women’s roles in society and emphasized that these Kendras will offer a platform for women to express themselves, learn new skills, and become more self-reliant.
