Biometric Attendance System
Biometric Attendance System (BAS) is a part of the “Digital India” initiative of Government of India that was implemented in the Central and State Government Offices. The system enables the employees to register attendance by simply presenting their biometrics (finger print/Iris) in the installed biometric devices, that is authenticated online from the biometrics (Aadhaar) stored in Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
The purpose of this document is to serve as a handbook for the Government (Centre and State) agencies that use and are to use BAS for their employee’s presence. Official website for biometric attendance is attendance.gov.in.
