UP to set up skill zones in all 75 districts

Uttar Pradesh has launched Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Skill and Employment Zones, with centres planned in all 75 districts. The first phase covers Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Jhansi and Gautam Buddha Nagar, followed by all 18 divisional headquarters and then the rest of the state.
Centres will bring candidate registration, vocational training and job placement together. Training is planned for non-technical graduates and ITI, polytechnic and engineering students. Indian and foreign language courses are planned for candidates seeking work outside Uttar Pradesh or overseas.
The government estimates spending ₹1,725 crore over three years. Centres are also planned to have hostels, employment offices and placement cells. No district-wise opening schedule or placement target has been provided.
