UP Anganwadi workers' monthly honorarium raised to ₹12,000

Uttar Pradesh's welfare package for Anganwadi workers and helpers covers approximately 2.91 lakh people. Announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in September 2026, it raises workers' monthly honorarium from ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 and helpers' from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000, effective September 2026, with payments scheduled to begin in October 2026. The amounts include central and state contributions and incentives. The government order has fixed and performance-linked components, so actual payments may depend on applicable rules and conditions.

Cashless treatment of up to ₹5 lakh a year has been announced for workers, helpers and their families. It is subject to final guidelines and expected at eligible government hospitals, medical colleges and empanelled hospitals. Workers and helpers will get ₹500 for a third saree, taking the provision from two sarees to three; the amount is intended to be transferred through DBT.

In the first phase, approximately 1.28 lakh smartphones have been provided to Anganwadi centres. Workers should contact their area supervisor, Child Development Project Officer or District Programme Officer about payment records, healthcare registration and other package details.
