UP proposes interest-free credit up to ₹1 lakh for women entrepreneurs

Uttar Pradesh Mahila Udyami Credit Card Yojana was announced in the 2026-27 Budget as a proposed scheme for women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) who want to start or expand small businesses. It may provide interest-free business credit up to ₹1 lakh, but final terms are subject to official guidelines. This is a loan, not a grant, and must be repaid.

The reported three-stage structure is ₹20,000, ₹30,000 and ₹50,000. Access to later stages is reported to depend on timely repayment. The scheme is mainly intended for women in SHGs under Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM); age, residency and other eligibility rules await official guidelines.

Interested women can ask their SHG office-bearers or block-level UPSRLM office for instructions. Aadhaar, bank details, SHG membership information and a short business description may be needed, subject to final document rules. Check for the official application announcement before sharing personal details or paying an intermediary. See the Uttar Pradesh Mahila Udyami Credit Card Yojana page or visit the UPSRLM website.
