Uttar Pradesh allocates ₹454 crore for village digital libraries and ₹100 crore for Panchayat Utsav Bhawans

Uttar Pradesh Government has set aside ₹454 crore to build digital libraries in Gram Panchayats and wards for the 2026-27 financial year. This scheme helps rural youth reach e-books, digital study materials, and competitive exam resources.

Infrastructure development

The state government has also proposed ₹57 crore to build 1,000 multipurpose Panchayat buildings. Also, ₹100 crore is set aside to develop Panchayat Utsav Bhawans, which will work as venues for marriages, social functions, and community events in rural areas of each Assembly constituency.

Authorities are finalizing the supply of furniture, books, and IT equipment. Rules are under development to manage building security, upkeep, and regular checks of these facilities.
