PM KUSUM 2.0 to launch soon with 10 GW agri-PV component

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced the launch of PM KUSUM 2.0. It helps farmers make renewable energy while they continue farming on their land. The scheme creates a new model for small-scale renewable energy in rural India.

Scheme details

PM KUSUM 2.0 has a 10 GW agri-PV component to use solar panels alongside crops. The budget for this version will likely be more than the Rs 34,422 crore set for the first scheme from 2019. Initial PM KUSUM work aimed to add 34,800 MW of solar capacity by March 2026.
