Odisha journalist insurance applications open Nov 9 to 30

Working journalists in Odisha who have not enrolled earlier can apply for Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana for 2026-27 through the OWJWS portal from November 9 to November 30, 2026.

An Information and Public Relations Department notification says the scheme is renewed for November 1 to November 30. District Information and Public Relations Officers will verify applications from December 1 to December 10, with approval or recommendation from the concerned District Administration, then forward them to the department.

DIPROs have also been asked to get the final district-wise list of journalists insured under the scheme for 2026-27, including health insurance cards issued by Third-Party Administrators, to check new applications for duplication. Only eligible working journalists not enrolled earlier will be considered.
