Fishers report repair costs and pending subsidy under PM Matsya Sampada Yojana
Fishers in Kerala and Maharashtra report boat problems and pending subsidy payments under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, which supports traditional fishers to get deep-sea fishing vessels.
Kerala fisherman Shaju Antony applied in 2020 and contributed about Rs 72 lakh. He received his boat in December 2023, but he and his crew later spent another Rs 30 lakh on repairs.
Maharashtra fisherman Kiran Koli applied in 2017-'18 under Neel Kranti (Blue Revolution) Mission. He received his boat in June 2026, nearly a decade later, but the final two subsidy instalments are still pending.
