Under this scheme, the state government aims to cover over 7,152 hectares of farming land with assured irrigation. Farmers from small, marginal, medium, and big categories can apply for financial support through their nearest Kisan Vikas Sangh or Farmer Development Organization.

Himachal Pradesh launched the Saur Sinchai Yojana to help farmers adopt solar-powered irrigation and reduce dependence on diesel and grid electricity. STEP 2 - Fill out the application form with all required details, including land ownership information, farmer category, and bank account details.

STEP 3 - Attach the required documents, including residence certificate, Aadhaar card, bank account details, land documents, and voter identity card.

STEP 4 - Submit the completed application form along with the documents to the Kisan Vikas Sangh or the nearest agriculture sub-divisional office.

STEP 5 - After verification and approval, the department will facilitate the installation of the solar pump set, and the subsidy amount will be credited to the farmer's bank account.

Under PM Sinchai Yojana, solar projects will be started on around 17,881 hectares of land with an estimated cost of Rs. 338 crore. The central government has already released Rs. 49 crore to the HP state government for this purpose. Farmers can also look into the PM-KUSUM scheme, which provides up to 85% assistance for solar pump installation for small and marginal farmers and 80% for medium and large farmers.
