HP Mukhya Mantri Gram Kaushal Yojana 2024: Himachal Pradesh government had started HP Mukhya Mantri Gram Kaushal Yojana on 6th January 2020. Former CM Jai Ram Thakur interacted with the Mukhyamantri Gram Kaushal Yojna through video conferencing from Shimla on 1 July 2020. Now some major announcements regarding the scheme are made in the HP Budget 2024. This scheme is started with a view to revive the traditional handicraft, handloom, local artifacts, wood and metal craft, besides providing gainful employment to the rural youth.

HP Mukhya Mantri Gram Kaushal Yojana 2024

Finance Minister in HP Budget 2024 announced that one thousand candidates will be trained in traditional arts of metal, stone and wood craft under Mukhya Mantri Gram Kaushal Yojana in the next one year. In addition to this, one thousand beneficiaries will be provided job placement under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana.

Amount to Trainee in Himachal Pradesh

CM mentioned that the HP state government was providing Rs. 7500 to the instructor and an amount of Rs. 3000 to the trainee per month. Now the period of training has been fixed from 3 months to 1 year. A maximum of 5 trainees would be allowed to be trained in each batch. This MMGKY would go a long way in revival of our traditional art, craft and culture, besides proving a major source of self-employment to the rural youth.

List of Courses Included in Mukhya Mantri Gram Kaushal Yojana

Chief Minister mentioned to begin with the Mukhya Mantri Gram Kaushal Yojana has been started in 18 blocks of 4 districts of the State. Here is the complete list of courses which have been covered under the Mukhya Mantri Gram Kaushalya Yojana which includes the following:-

  • Wood craft
  • Metal craft
  • Mandi Kalam
  • Stone craft
  • Bamboo craft
  • Embroidery
  • Pine needle products
  • Pottery 

Need for CM Gram Kaushal Scheme in Himachal Pradesh

CM said that during the COVID-19 pandemic only the rural economy have survived, which was an indication of the fact that these areas have firm base to deal with any kind of eventuality. He said that efforts should be made to start rural development oriented schemes to benefit the youth so that they do not have to migrate from rural areas to urban areas in search of employment. Mukhya Mantri Gram Kaushal Yojana is going to be such an initiative for development of rural people.

Earlier on 1 July 2020, Chief Minister also released the poster and information booklet regarding this CM Gram Kaushal Scheme on the occasion. Chief Minister also interacted with several beneficiaries of the scheme. The main aim of the state govt. was to revive the rural economy of the state. Chief Minister himself is showing keen interest in the development of rural areas.

CM said that State Rural Development Department has started several scheme aimed at development of rural areas during the last 3 years. He said that Mukhya Mantri Ek Bigha Yojna has been proving a big success as about 3500 families have registered themselves to avail the benefits of the Scheme. He also congratulated the department for getting first prize in e-Panchayat. 

Online Registration for Skill Development Allowance / Industrial Skill Development

The youth of the state can now register themselves online for Skill Development Allowance and Industrial Skill Development Allowance Scheme 2018. Counselling programme for these beneficiaries will also be started. State Government will spend Rs.100 crore for these allowances.

Employment to 7,000 people will be provided in private sector through ‘Rojgar Melas’ and ‘Campus Interviews’. This budget shall give fillip to economic growth by strengthening initiatives of entrepreneurship and skill development; tourism and basic infrastructure. Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to extend increased assistance to more workers.
