Jharkhand ASHA Yojana 2026 helps rural families connect with self employment and income opportunities. The scheme was launched on 29 September 2020 by Chief Minister Hemant Soren along with the Phoolo Jhano Ashirwad Abhiyan and the Palash brand. Jharkhand state government runs this scheme to support the economic growth of rural women.
Aajivika Samvardhan Hunar Abhiyan (ASHA Yojana) is run by the Rural Development Department through the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS). The scheme connects women self help groups (SHGs) with farming, animal husbandry, forest produce collection and processing, and small business work. It gives rural women a chance to earn a regular income from local resources.
Jharkhand ASHA Yojana 2026 - Aajivika Samvardhan Hunar Abhiyan
ASHA Yojana has connected about 20.8 lakh families of the state with strong income means. The target is to add 26 lakh more families in the coming financial year. The scheme gives rural women self employment options linked to local resources. These are given below.
- Farming based income - Women get support to take up farming and related work on their own land.
- Animal husbandry - Help with cattle, goats and other animals for a regular income.
- Forest produce collection - Support for collecting forest products like leaves, fruits and honey.
- Forest produce processing - Training to process forest products into saleable goods.
- Small business - Women can start their own small business with the support of the scheme.
About 3.6 lakh families of the nearly 4.71 lakh migrants recorded in the Mission Sahakam database of Jharkhand will get benefit under ASHA. The Rural Development Department has made a provision of about Rs 1,200 crore for the different projects run under the Jharkhand State Livelihood Project.
Palash Brand is a Growing Name of Rural Women
The Palash brand is the main part of the scheme. It brings the products of women SHGs under one roof so that they can reach bigger markets. Palash covers the full value chain, including production, collection, processing, packaging, branding and marketing. The ownership stays with SHG women and their groups like Producer Groups (PGs), FPOs and FPCs.
Today more than 30 products are available in the market through a network of 46 Palash Marts and several display counters in different districts. About 5,000 producer groups are engaged in crop and collection work with nearly 2 lakh members. More than 5,000 rural women work directly in packaging, processing and marketing centres. Popular products under Palash include soap, mustard oil, rice, arhar dal, millet flour, honey, pickles, bamboo handicrafts, masks and chocolates.
In 2026, the Jharkhand government tied up with CSC eStore to create a digital marketplace for the products of women SHGs. This move helps rural women reach more markets and earn more income. The Palash brand is also helping mango farmers of the state. In the current financial year 2026-27, premium mangoes were exported to London and Dubai, giving rural women a global market.
Phoolo Jhano Ashirwad Abhiyan
Under the Phoolo Jhano Ashirwad Abhiyan, women who make and sell local liquor are identified and connected with respectful income means. More than 15,000 such women have been surveyed under the Mission Navjivan. These women are being counselled and connected to mainstream income work. Some women can be chosen as active workers under the livelihood mission to inspire other women.
Jharkhand Inclusive Livelihood Scheme (JH-SAY)
In May 2026, the state launched the Jharkhand Inclusive Livelihood Scheme (JH-SAY) to help ultra poor families. The scheme will improve the living standard of 41,000 ultra poor families in two phases. In the first phase, about 16,000 families of six districts will be covered, followed by 25,000 more families. Approval cheques of over Rs 44 crore were given for the first phase in East Singhbhum, Palamu, Godda, Simdega and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.
