Maharashtra approves up to 20% challan discount

Maharashtra's state cabinet has approved the Maharashtra Traffic Police Abhay Yojana 2026, with a one-time discount of up to 20% on eligible pending traffic challans, Mumbai Live reports.

For the first phase, eligible pending challans issued between January 21, 2026, and October 31, 2026, qualify for up to 20% off. This phase lasts 30 days.

For challans issued from November 1, 2026, onward, the second phase gives a 20% discount if payment is made within 45 days. This benefit is available for one year.

The third phase covers eligible negotiable challans issued between January 30, 2019, and January 20, 2026, and filed with a court for recovery. It gives up to 20% off for a 30-day settlement window.
