Nagaur tops India in crop diversification under PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana

Nagaur district has emerged as the country's top-performing district in promoting crop diversification and sustainable farming under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana. As per the Rajasthan Chief Minister's Office, the district scored 18.44 points in this category.

Rajasthan has eight districts among the 100 selected under the scheme. Nagaur also secured the fourth position nationally in improving post-harvest storage capacity and access to long-term agricultural credit. It ranked fifth in increasing farm productivity and improving governance and service delivery. Pali stood eighth nationally for improvement in irrigation infrastructure.

On the overall performance across the scheme's objectives, Nagaur secured the second position nationally with 84.13 points, while Pali ranked 11th. The scheme brings together 36 programmes being implemented through 11 departments and agencies.

Jaisalmer has also received national recognition under the scheme for initiatives aimed at improving water efficiency and farm productivity. These include integrated pest management-based cumin cultivation on 2,000 acres and solar-powered sprinkler irrigation on 500 acres.
