Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana registered voter condition challenged in Punjab and Haryana High Court, hearing on October 5
A petition against the registered voter rule in Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana will be heard on October 5 at the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Harbakhsh Charitable Society filed the petition and argues that requiring beneficiaries to be registered voters in Punjab ties public assistance to the electoral roll. Punjab Government has opposed the petition and asked for time to explain why the condition is in place.
Under the scheme, eligible Scheduled Caste women get ₹1,500 a month and other eligible women get ₹1,000 a month. No decision has been taken yet.
