Bihar MSME Policy 2026 targets 1 crore families for self-reliance

Samrat Choudhary, Bihar's CM, launched the Bihar MSME Policy 2026. The policy will help one crore families become self-reliant via entrepreneurship. Bihar plans to build 45,000 entrepreneurs with Rs 3,500 crore in funds.

Money will go to certain groups. From the 45,000 beneficiaries, 14,000 will come from scheduled caste and scheduled tribe areas, 10,000 from backward classes, 9,500 women, 9,000 youths, and 2,500 from minority groups.

Under the new rule, 25 to 40 per cent of government buying will be from local products. Bihar wants Rs 5 lakh crore in industry money using public-private partnerships. Over the next five years, the state will give 20,000 MW of power to industries.

Centre gave Rs 10,000 crore for MSMEs. Bihar should get at least one-tenth. Also, the government will build ropeways at 20 spots in two years and hook all farm feeders to 100 per cent solar power within a year.
