Poonch District Reviews Bank Performance and Government Scheme Implementation

Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma held a meeting of the District Level Review Committee in Poonch. The goal was to look at banking work for the quarter ending June 2026. The district had a total business of ₹7295.38 crore. Deposits were ₹4750.79 crore and loans were ₹2534.57 crore. The current credit-deposit ratio is 53.24%.
Banking and scheme focus
The administration told banks to increase lending for priority areas. Banks must also make sure government-sponsored schemes help local youth. The meeting focused on rolling out Mission YUVA, PMEGP, and REGP to encourage self-employment. Also, officials checked the progress of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. They asked banks to spread the word about rooftop solar panels. Finally, banks must increase the coverage for social security initiatives like PMJJBY, PMSBY, and APY.
