Karnataka Assembly Approves Rs 7042.69 Crore Supplementary Budget

Karnataka legislature cleared the first part of the supplementary budget for 2026-27, totaling Rs 7042.69 crore. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar presented the plan, which includes Rs 4324.35 crore for revenue and Rs 2718.35 crore for capital spending.

Budget Breakdown and Key Allocations

The budget sets aside Rs 289 crore for the Jaladhare scheme to help with water problems in drought areas and Rs 1,000 crore for road work in Bengaluru. Other funds were also approved for development work. This includes Rs 2,918 crore for the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar scheme, Rs 781 crore for Bharat Jodo Youth Clubs, and Rs 708 crore for the AMRUT scheme.

The budget also provides Rs 152.72 crore for Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission and Rs 93 crore for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).
