Centre Allocates Over 4200 Crore for J&K Health Infrastructure

Jammu and Kashmir received money to help with public health services. Over the last five years, the central government provided ₹4,083.74 crore through National Health Mission and ₹171.25 crore using Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.

Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, shared this data in Parliament on August 12, 2026. Annual funding for National Health Mission grew from ₹459.10 crore in 2021-22 to ₹1,017.14 crore by 2025-26. Right now, 25 lakh families in the Union Territory have health cover through Ayushman Bharat, which includes AB-PMJAY SEHAT.

Public health services in region

The government noted that eSanjeevani telemedicine services are available across the region. They are also running programs like TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Intensified Mission Indradhanush to help more people get medical care.
