Ramesh Kumar assumes charge as Secretary, RDD&PR, Jammu and Kashmir

Ramesh Kumar took charge as Secretary, Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj (RDD&PR), Jammu and Kashmir, on October 13.

After taking office, Kumar held a meeting with senior officers and officials at the Civil Secretariat to go over the department's priorities and ongoing work.

The Secretary looked into the working status and progress of several major programmes. These include the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM-G), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP), Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) and Himayat.

Kumar told the officers to give top priority to projects and measures that provide direct, visible and measurable benefits to the public.
