Nagaland records 544 rooftop solar installations under PM Surya Ghar
Nagaland has finished 544 rooftop solar setups under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, reaching a total capacity of 1.83 MW. The state got 954 applications and paid ₹3.96 crore in subsidies to eligible people. Dimapur has the most with 330 setups, followed by Kohima with 85 and Chümoukedima with 75.
Government building solarisation
Work on public buildings is slow. Only 79 out of 1,534 identified government buildings now have solar power. This is about 5% of the target. Nagaland started its Solar Mission in April 2025 to work with the central scheme and give extra state-level subsidies to residents.
