Assam Receives Approval for New PMAY Housing Units

Assam received approval from the center for a housing project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The state will get support to build up to 3.5 lakh homes. This scheme includes central help worth ₹5,000 crore to increase construction work in the state.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the government will approve more houses for flood-hit areas and tea garden families. Also, the state received ₹139 crore under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana. This money helps modernize farm work and supports sustainable farming. These steps are part of a support package to help Assam after recent natural disasters.
