Pratyasha Scheme West Bengal 2026 - Police Housing Flats by WBPHIDCL, Application and Eligibility

Category:   Tags: , , , ,

West Bengal Police Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (WBPHIDCL) runs Pratyasha Scheme in 2026 for state police personnel, giving inspectors, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors and constables a way to buy a residential flat at a fair price. Flats are built with loan support from HUDCO and are given out through a random lottery. Category A flats come to around 1,123 sq. ft., Category B around 926 sq. ft. and Category C around 794 sq. ft.

Application forms are available on the Kolkata Police website and on wbphidcl.com. Every officer can send only one form. If someone wants to apply jointly, only an immediate family member (spouse, parent or child) can be the second applicant. Read the process, eligibility, pay categories, documents and rules below.

Pratyasha Scheme West Bengal Application Process

Applications are submitted offline at the WBPHIDCL head office in Kolkata. Follow these steps to apply for a flat under this housing scheme:

STEP 1 - Go to the Kolkata Police website at kolkatapolice.gov.in and download the application form, the Information Guide and the General Terms & Conditions PDF. The same form is also available on the WBPHIDCL site at wbphidcl.com.

STEP 2 - Prepare an A/C Payee Demand Draft, Pay Order or Banker's Cheque in favour of "Managing Director, West Bengal Police Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited" payable at Kolkata. The amount depends on your flat category and any optional parking space you want to book.

STEP 3 - On the back of the payment instrument, write your name, your father's or spouse's name and your contact number so your fee can be linked to your form during checking.

STEP 4 - Fill the form fully, sign it, and attach the required documents listed below. Submit the packet in person at the WBPHIDCL office at Araksha Bhawan (3rd Floor), Block-DJ, Sector-II, Salt Lake City, Kolkata- 700 091.

STEP 5 - If you cannot go in person, send the packet by post to the Managing Director at the same office address. Keep the receipt, payment copy and a photocopy of the filled form safely for future reference.

Selection is done by a random lottery so each eligible officer gets a fair chance. If some flats are left unallotted after the lottery round, the remaining units may go on a first-come, first-served basis or through another lottery.

Eligibility Rules

You can apply if you serve in West Bengal Police or Kolkata Police and hold one of the qualifying ranks. Your flat category is decided by your total pay, which is Basic Pay plus Grade Pay. Officers above the pay slab of a lower category can still apply for that lower category if they want.

Category Eligible Ranks Minimum Pay Flat Area (Approx)
A DSP (Non-WBPS), Assistant Commissioner, Inspector, Sub-Inspector/Sergeant ₹18,000 1,123 sq. ft.
B Inspector, Sub-Inspector/Sergeant, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Constable ₹15,000 926 sq. ft.
C Assistant Sub-Inspector, Constable ₹8,840 794 sq. ft.

One officer can send only one form. Joint applications are allowed only with an immediate family member such as spouse, parents or children. Any second application by the same officer will be rejected.

Benefits

Pratyasha Scheme lets police staff shift from rented rooms and government quarters to their own permanent flat at a rate they can afford. Flats are built by WBPHIDCL with HUDCO loan support, so the buyer gets a proper residential unit with basic services in place. This gives you long-term stability for your family and a fixed address after retirement. State-level housing options like WB Nijashree Housing Scheme cover lower-middle income families, whereas Pratyasha is meant only for the police force.
