Rajasthan asks NHAI to examine Annapurna Rasoi kitchens at expressway rest areas

Panchayati Raj Department of Rajasthan has written to the regional officer of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), asking it to examine a proposal to open Shree Annapurna Rasoi kitchens at rest areas along expressways. Long-distance travellers and drivers would get meals there at subsidised rates. NHAI will send its recommendations back to the department.
Shree Annapurna Rasoi Yojana gives a full meal for Rs 8 per plate, and the state government pays a subsidy of Rs 22 for each plate. One serving has 300 grams of chapati, 100 grams of dal, 100 grams of vegetable and 100 grams of rice or millets, plus khichdi and pickle.
Details are on the official Shree Annapurna Rasoi portal of the Rajasthan government.
