West Bengal Cabinet approves Rs 50,000 Bhagini Nivedita Scheme for unmarried women
West Bengal Cabinet approved the Bhagini Nivedita Scheme on October 6, 2026. Unmarried women in higher education will get money help of Rs 50,000 over three years.
The scheme starts from January 2027. Eligible women receive Rs 17,000 in the first year, Rs 17,000 in the second year, and Rs 16,000 in the third year.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced the approval after a Cabinet meeting at the state secretariat. He said the scheme applies across West Bengal.
