PMAY Recovery Begins in Jamui After Six Families Take Benefits in Bihar and Jharkhand

A national check found six families in Chakai block got housing support under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in both Bihar and Jharkhand's Deoghar. The government has started taking back the money.

Chakai Block Development Officer Manish Anand sent a letter on September 18. He told housing assistants in the six affected panchayats to finish the recovery fast and put the cash in the state account.

Beneficiaries Identified

• Vinod Rai of Chandramandih panchayat
• Sugiya Devi of Madhopur
• Sanjha Devi of Dadhwa
• Radha Devi of Kalyanpur
• Prabha Devi of Ramsinghdih
• Rajendra Ram of Kiyajori panchayat

So far, only Rs 45,000 was taken from one person. Five others still owe it. Officials asked housing assistants to send notices to all six.

If nobody pays after three notices, the government will start legal action to recover the amount.
