Himachal Pradesh CM distributes Rs 5.78 crore to 1,471 construction workers

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu handed over money totaling Rs 5.78 crore to 1,471 registered workers and their families on October 3 at Nogli in the Rampur Assembly seat. The funds came from various welfare schemes.

Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (HPBOCWWB) gave the money. It went to widows, disabled people, and poor families of registered workers. Also, to children of registered workers for college, technical courses, weddings, and basic needs.

How the money was split by scheme

• Mukhya Mantri Aawas Yojana: Rs 45.95 lakh to build homes for widows, single women, destitute women, and disabled women.
• Education Assistance Scheme: Rs 2.74 crore to 968 people. For higher studies and technical courses for kids of registered workers.
• Marriage Assistance Scheme: Rs 1.83 crore to 359 people.
• Accidental Death and Funeral Assistance Scheme: Rs 54.20 lakh across 21 cases.
• Maternity and Paternity Benefit Scheme: Rs 7.14 lakh to 30 people.
• Girl Child Birth Gift Scheme: Rs 7.65 lakh to families with 15 baby girls.
• Mental Disability Assistance: Rs 2.15 lakh to 10 family members.
• Disability Pension Scheme: Rs 25,000 to one person.

Money given by district

The cash went straight into bank accounts of eligible people. It covered many districts and sub-offices across the state.

• Kangra: Rs 1 crore to 270 people.
• Hamirpur: Rs 76.74 lakh to 225 people.
• Chamba: Rs 70.54 lakh to 164 people.
• Mandi: Rs 64.80 lakh to 171 people.
• Sirmaur: Rs 51.80 lakh to 140 people.
• Kinnaur: Rs 48.39 lakh to 126 people.
• Shimla area: Rs 45.58 lakh to 88 people.
• Bilaspur: Rs 32.98 lakh to 104 people.
• Una: Rs 33.93 lakh to 72 people.
• Solan area: Rs 30.51 lakh to 63 people.
• Kullu: Rs 21.43 lakh to 48 people.
