Punjab Government Allocates 15.72 Crore for OBC Student Scholarships
Punjab is increasing support for school students. Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur announced that 39,320 OBC students will get scholarship benefits under the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme over two years.
Scholarship details and budget
During 2025-26, the state provided 5.72 crore to 14,320 students. For 2026-27, the government proposed an additional 10 crore to cover 25,000 more students.
This scheme helps remove money problems for children in school. This investment is a very important way to make sure every student has a fair chance to succeed, no matter their background.
