Punjab Ashirwad Scheme: ₹65.20 crore released to 12,784 beneficiaries in 2026-27

Punjab Social Justice Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur has said that ₹65.20 crore was released under Ashirwad Scheme to 12,784 eligible people in 2026-27. Each family gets ₹51,000 for a daughter's marriage, sent by DBT to the bank account.

Scheduled Caste families got ₹44.75 crore for 8,774 cases. Another ₹20.45 crore went to 4,010 cases from Backward Classes and EWS families. Up to two daughters from one family can get the benefit.

Applications of 9,183 more SC beneficiaries and 4,342 BC and EWS beneficiaries are still being processed. Forms are taken only at Sewa Kendras, as explained in the Punjab Ashirwad Scheme guide.
