PMGSY Funding and Progress in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir has improved rural connectivity, with 2,132 places now linked through all-weather roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. During the 2025-26 financial year, the region received ₹261.87 crore, while total spending reached ₹420.50 crore including the state share.

Road network expansion

Central government allocated ₹980 crore for 2026-27 to continue this work. As of August 6, 2026, ₹214.01 crore has been released. The government keeps strict quality control through independent monitors and the eMARG system. This system makes sure that road maintenance remains a top priority for contractors during the five-year defect liability period.
