PM-VBRY Part A gives up to ₹15,000 to first-time EPF members joining before 31 July 2027

First-time Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) members can get up to ₹15,000 under Part A of Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), which the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) runs. The incentive is equal to one month's eligible EPF wage and is capped at ₹15,000, so not every eligible employee gets the full amount.

Four conditions decide who can apply. The person must join an establishment between 1 August 2025 and 31 July 2027. They must not have been a contributing EPF member before 1 August 2025, including through an exempted PF trust. Monthly wages must be up to ₹1 lakh. The employer must meet the applicable EPF reporting and contribution rules and file Electronic Challan-cum-Returns (ECRs). Meeting the salary limit alone does not make someone eligible.

Payment comes in two instalments. The first instalment of ₹7,500 is paid after six months of continuous service in the same establishment. The second is paid after 12 months of service and completion of the financial literacy programme prescribed by EPFO. That amount is the balance, up to the ₹15,000 total cap. As per the scheme rules, the second instalment is placed in a savings instrument for a fixed period instead of being paid as cash right away. Part A payments go through Direct Benefit Transfer to Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts using the Aadhaar Bridge Payment System.

An employee gets a Universal Account Number (UAN) through the employer or the UMANG app. Details and the registration process are on the PMVBRY portal. Keep the UAN and Aadhaar details correct and the bank account linked for the payment.

PM-VBRY has a separate part for employers. An establishment can get up to ₹3,000 per month for each additional eligible employee, subject to the scheme rules. This is an employer benefit, not the ₹15,000 incentive for first-time employees.
