PM-RAHAT Scheme Provides Cashless Treatment for Road Accident Victims

PM-RAHAT scheme launched on 13th February 2026 to help save lives during the critical golden hour. Anyone involved in a road accident can now get cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh for up to seven days. This applies to accidents on any road.

How the treatment works

Stabilization is the main part of this care. Hospitals provide treatment for up to 24 hours for standard cases or 48 hours for life-threatening situations. Call 112 Emergency Response Support System to find the closest facility. In Andaman and Nicobar Islands, seven hospitals including GB Pant Hospital and various CHCs are linked with AB-PM-JAY to offer this service. This scheme removes money problems for both victims and those who stop to help.
