Odisha CM Announces Rs 883 Crore Urban Development Package

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched an Rs 883 crore urban development package to improve infrastructure across the state. This announcement was made on Local Self-Government Day. A large part of this fund, totaling Rs 560 crore, supports 28 newly-formed Notified Area Councils. Each council receives Rs 20 crore for required work like roads, drains, and markets.

Also, 593 projects worth Rs 323 crore started under the Mukhya Mantri Shahari Vikash Yojana across 62 urban local bodies. These include 423 finished projects and 170 new project starts. The Chief Minister also launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-BANDHU scheme and the Odisha Yatri SOS App to improve citizen services. Officials must make sure these projects finish on time and with clear processes to help cities become active economic hubs.
