Short Update
Maharashtra allows offline kharif crop registration for 70 lakh farmers
Maharashtra Revenue Department issued a GR on 6 November 2026 that lets farmers register kharif crops offline through the e-Ferfar system at the Talathi level. About 70 lakh farmers who could not finish registration on the Digital Crop Survey app are covered.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule ordered the change. Offline crop inspection applies only where online registration stays impossible even after attempts to fix it. The GR lists the app problems farmers hit:
- The app shows more than 20 metres between the farmer's location and the field boundary.
- Field maps of two plots get swapped.
- Maps of entire villages are missing.
- Farmer names and land account numbers do not show up.
Farmer ID under Agristack also gets easier. Farmers who could not get the ID because land or cultivation records were missing can now have them verified by the Talathi, Mandal Officer and Tehsildar. Crop records and Farmer ID are used for crop loans, subsidies and crop insurance. No last date for offline registration is announced yet.
