Gujarat extends Narmada water supply for Kharif crops

Gujarat government extended Narmada water supply for irrigation to help Kharif crops in dry areas. State authorities will provide 5,000 cusecs of water for 20 days to the Mahi Command area. Water supply to Devbhumi Dwarka and Jamnagar districts using Link-1 of the SAUNI Yojana gets a 10-day extension. North Gujarat will keep getting 2,000 cusecs of water for another 15 days through the Sujalam-Sufalam Pipeline Yojana. The government supports farming, similar to work done under the Kisan Suryoday Yojana.

Water distribution details

• Mahi Command area: 5,000 cusecs for 20 days.
• Devbhumi Dwarka and Jamnagar: 10-day extension via SAUNI Yojana.
• North Gujarat: 2,000 cusecs for 15 days via Sujalam-Sufalam Pipeline Yojana.
