Cheyutha pension: 4.5 lakh new pensions sanctioned in Telangana
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy started the distribution of about 4.5 lakh new Cheyutha pensions on 8 November 2026 at Kodangal in Vikarabad district. He handed sanction letters to new pensioners at Hakimpet, and ministers are giving out sanction letters in every district.
Here's how the new pensions are split:
- 3 lakh go to widows and single women.
- 1 lakh go to persons with disabilities.
- 50,000 go to weavers and Geetha (toddy tapping) workers.
More than 6 lakh people had applied between 10 August and 15 September through gram panchayats, MPDO offices, municipal offices and MeeSeva centres. Officials checked land records, vehicle registrations, employee data and GST records before the final field check. The first payment to new Cheyutha pension holders is due on 19 November. Names can be checked in the Cheyutha pensioner list on cheyutha.telangana.gov.in.
