Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department is the main department for this pension. Payment of ₹600 per month is credited to the bank account linked with the Samagra ID of the resident. No fee is charged anywhere in the process.
Money is small but it helps old people in ashrams meet daily personal costs like medicines, tea, clothes and small travel. Nobody has to depend on the ashram staff for every little rupee.
How to apply for Ant-vasi Pension Yojana
Both offline and online routes work. Offline is the common one because most applicants are inside an ashram and the ashram office helps them.
STEP 1 - Get the prescribed application form from the Gram Panchayat or Janpad Panchayat office if the ashram is in a rural area. In a city, take the form from the Municipal Corporation, Nagar Palika or Nagar Parishad office. Common Service Centres also keep these forms.
STEP 2 - Fill the form with name, age, Samagra ID, ashram name and bank account details. Attach three passport size photos and an age proof certificate.
STEP 3 - Submit the filled form at the same office and take the acknowledgement receipt. Keep that receipt safe, it is the only proof of submission.
STEP 4 - Local officers check the papers and the ashram record. Approval comes from the Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat in rural areas, and from the Commissioner or Chief Municipal Officer in urban areas.
STEP 5 - For the online route, open the Madhya Pradesh social security pension portal, go to the pension schemes section and choose the online application option, then fill the same details and submit.
Under Public Service Guarantee Act 2010, the application has to be decided within 15 working days. If it crosses that, the applicant can complain to the same office.
