Nalkoop Khanan Yojana Madhya Pradesh 2026 - ₹40,000 Subsidy for Tube Well and Pump, Eligibility and Apply Process

Category:   Tags: , , , ,

Madhya Pradesh government is running Nalkoop Khanan Yojana in 2026 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers who want their own tube well. Eligible farmers get 75% of the digging cost up to ₹25,000, plus 75% of pump cost up to ₹15,000. Together that comes to ₹40,000 of support in one go.

Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department runs this scheme, which started on 31 December 2001 and is still open in most districts. As per a district notice issued in May 2026, applications are being approved on a first come, first served basis, and farmers can register themselves on MP Kisan portal before submitting papers at the block office.

Nalkoop Khanan Yojana 2026 Details

Idea behind this scheme is simple. Many small farmers in Madhya Pradesh depend fully on rain, and one dry spell can spoil the whole season. With a tube well and a pump, the same land can give a second crop. Since digging cost is heavy for a poor family, the state pays most of it as subsidy money straight into the bank account.

Scheme covers almost the whole state, but farmers of Shajapur and Indore districts are not covered under it. Targets are given district wise every year, so the number of farmers who get approval in a block depends on the target received there.

How to Apply for Nalkoop Khanan Yojana

Application work is partly online and partly offline in 2026. Farmers first register on MP Kisan portal and then hand over the papers at the local agriculture office. Steps are given below.

STEP 1 - Register yourself on MP Kisan portal or on the farmer registration site of Directorate of Agriculture Engineering at farmer.mpdage.org using your Aadhaar number and mobile number.

STEP 2 - Fill the Nalkoop Khanan Yojana form with your land details, caste category, bank account number and IFSC code, then note down the registration number that appears on the screen.

STEP 3 - Take a printout of the filled form and submit it with the required documents at the office of the Senior Agriculture Development Officer of your block, or at the office of the Deputy Director, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department in your district.

STEP 4 - Wait for the registration order. Approvals are given on first come, first served basis as per the target available for your block and caste category.

STEP 5 - After getting the order, get the ground water survey report and start digging within 90 days. If digging is not done inside 90 days, the registration gets cancelled on its own.

STEP 6 - Get the tube well entered in the patwari record of the revenue department. Subsidy money is released only after this entry and physical checking by the department.

Submersible pump installation 75% of unit cost, up to ₹15,000, paid only for successful installation

Who Can Apply

Rules for eligibility are strict, so check them once before spending on any digging work. A short list is given below.

  • Applicant should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh and a farmer by work.
  • Applicant should belong to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category and hold a valid caste certificate.
  • Farm land should be in the name of the applicant inside the state.
  • Farmers of Shajapur and Indore districts cannot apply under this scheme.
  • Land should not fall in a dark or grey ground water area, since digging is not allowed there.

New Rules Farmers Must Follow in 2026

Department has made a few conditions clear in its 2026 district notices, and missing any one of them can cancel the whole registration. Distance between one tube well and the next has to be at least 300 metres, which is about 1000 feet. If physical checking shows a shorter gap, the registration stands cancelled and no money is paid.

Digging can be done by any agency or registered contractor of the farmer's choice, but a ground water survey report has to be taken before starting. Digging must finish within 90 days of the registration order, and the tube well entry in patwari records is required before the subsidy is released.

Documents Required

Papers needed for this scheme are the usual ones, and keeping them ready saves a second trip to the office.

  • Aadhaar card as identity proof and a recent passport size photo.
  • Domicile certificate of Madhya Pradesh and a valid caste certificate.
  • Land ownership papers such as khasra, khatauni or B1 revenue record.
  • Bank passbook copy for DBT payment of the subsidy amount.
  • Ground water survey report before starting the digging work.
