Madhya Pradesh government is running Gharelu Hinsa Ki Pidita Ke Liye Sahayta Yojana for women and girls who get physically hurt because of domestic violence. Gharelu Hinsa Ki Pidita Ke Liye Sahayta Yojana Details
This scheme works along with Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005. That law gives women the right to protection and support against physical violence, sexual violence, verbal and emotional abuse, and economic abuse. Where such violence causes permanent damage to any body part, the state pays compensation to the woman or girl.
Main department running the scheme is Women and Child Development Department, Madhya Pradesh. Applications are accepted at the district WCD office, through the Protection Officer, at a One Stop Centre, or at a Lok Seva Kendra. Women in both urban and rural areas can apply.

How to Apply for Gharelu Hinsa Sahayta Yojana
Application is offline. No online form is needed, and no money has to be paid at any stage. Steps are given below.
STEP 1 - File a police complaint or FIR about the domestic violence incident first, because a copy of the FIR has to go with the application. Keep the FIR number and the date of the incident safe.
STEP 2 - Reach the district Women and Child Development office and meet the Protection Officer, or go to the nearest One Stop Centre or Lok Seva Kendra. Application has to be given within one year from the date of the incident.
STEP 3 - Fill the application form with your name, address, details of the incident and details of the injury. Attach the FIR copy, identity proof and medical papers. If officials already know about the case from some other source, the Protection Officer can contact the woman on their own and start the file.
STEP 4 - Protection Officer sends the report to the District Programme Officer, who gets the injury checked by a government medical board. That board decides the disability percentage.
STEP 5 - District Level Committee, which has the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, Chief Medical and Health Officer and District Programme Officer, looks at the case and approves the amount. After approval, the District Programme Officer releases the payment to the bank account. Whole case has to be settled in 60 working days. If the claim is rejected and it does not look correct, an appeal can be filed with the Divisional Commissioner.
Benefit Amount in 2026
Amount depends on how much permanent damage the violence has caused. There is no change in the amounts in 2026, and both slabs are still the same as the ones fixed at the start.

Who Can Apply
Support is only for women and girls of Madhya Pradesh. Married women, deserted women and unmarried girls are all covered. Simple conditions are given below.
- Applicant should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh, since this is a state scheme and women from other states are not covered.
- Applicant should be a woman or a girl who has faced domestic violence at home as defined under the 2005 Act.
- There should be permanent damage to some body part because of that violence, and a government medical board has to confirm the disability percentage.
- Application should reach the Protection Officer within one year from the date of the incident.
Documents Required
Papers should be kept ready before going to the office, as a missing FIR copy or medical paper delays the file. Keep both original and photocopy.
- Identity proof such as Aadhaar card, voter ID or any other government photo ID.
- Copy of the FIR or the police complaint filed about the domestic violence incident.
- Medical papers and injury reports from the hospital, along with the disability certificate if it is already made.
- Bank passbook copy of the woman so that the approved amount reaches her own account.
- Residence proof of Madhya Pradesh and passport size photos.
