Civil Service Incentive Scheme

Category:

Madhya Pradesh government is running Civil Service Incentive Scheme for SC and ST students who clear different stages of UPSC or MPPSC civil services exams. Students who pass the UPSC preliminary exam get ₹40,000, and the scheme is open in 2026 with applications accepted at district offices.

This state-level scheme gives cash rewards at three stages of the exam journey, so students from SC and ST communities get support for their civil services preparation. The annual income of parents must stay within ₹6 lakh to qualify.

Civil Service Incentive Scheme - Introduction

Civil Service Incentive Scheme is run by the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh government. The scheme started in 2003-04 and gives cash rewards to SC and ST candidates who clear the preliminary exam, main exam, or interview of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC).

The idea is simple. Students who clear a stage of the exam get the incentive amount directly in their bank account, which helps them cover coaching and preparation costs for the next level. The department re-issued the scheme rules and guidelines in June 2026, so the scheme is running for the current year as well.

There is no application fee for this scheme, and the amount is paid only after the candidate passes the specific stage. Students from other states can check similar support like the Bihar SC ST Civil Seva Protsahan Yojana which works on the same idea.
