The hostel stipend is only for students living in approved private hostels. It does not apply to students staying in college hostels or those already getting hostel support under the scholarship.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following conditions to apply for this scholarship.
- The applicant should be a girl student belonging to the Muslim, Latin Catholic or converted Christian community. Students from other notified minority communities such as Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Parsi may also be considered.
- The applicant must be a native and permanent resident of Kerala, and should be enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate, postgraduate or professional course in a recognized institution.
- The applicant should have secured at least 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination, and the total family income should not exceed 8 lakh rupees a year.
- The applicant should not be getting any other scholarship or stipend for the same course, except lump-sum grants or merit-based financial support.
Exclusions
The course scholarship and the hostel stipend cannot be claimed together. A student who chooses the hostel stipend will not receive the course-related cash benefit. Also, a student staying in a college-managed hostel is not eligible for the hostel stipend.

STEP 1 - Visit the official Minority Welfare Scholarship Portal and click on the Register or Login button on the dashboard.
STEP 2 - Choose Student Registration from the drop-down menu and fill in the required details to complete the one-time registration.
STEP 3 - Log in with the registered details and select C H Muhammedkoya Scholarship from the scholarship menu.
STEP 4 - Fill in the academic and personal details, upload the required documents and submit the application. Keep a printout for future reference.
STEP 5 - Students from self-financing institutions should get their application submitted by the head of the institution, either directly or by post to the Director, Minority Welfare Department, 4th Floor, Vikas Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram - 33.
