Rural Housing Odisha 2026 list can now be checked on the official portal at rh.odisha.gov.in. The Odisha government has brought the earlier Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana under a new scheme called Antyodaya Gruha Jojana, which provides pucca houses to rural families living in kutcha houses.

What is Antyodaya Gruha Jojana

Antyodaya Gruha Jojana is a state plan scheme of the Odisha government made to provide pucca houses to all eligible rural households who are either houseless or living in kutcha houses. The scheme also gives an incentive to beneficiaries of government housing schemes who complete their houses early.

A pucca house under the scheme has walls and roof made of permanent material and can withstand normal wear and tear for a minimum period of 30 years. The roof is made of RCC material. A kutcha house is one where either the wall or the roof is not made of permanent material and cannot give safety during natural or man made calamities.

Benefits and Key Features

The scheme offers several benefits to eligible rural families. The main points are given below.

• Housing support of Rs 1.2 lakh is given to build a pucca house with a minimum carpet area of 25 square metres, which includes a hygienic cooking space.
• An incentive of Rs 20,000 is paid for completing the house within 4 months and Rs 10,000 for completing it within 6 months from the date of the first instalment.
• Funds are credited directly to the beneficiary account through DBT mode from the state nodal account.
• No contractor is engaged for construction. The house is built by the beneficiary himself or herself.

Eligibility Criteria

To get a new house under Antyodaya Gruha Jojana, the applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha and should be houseless or living in a kutcha house. The household should come under one of the following categories.

• Forest Right Act 2006 beneficiaries.
• Households in which the main earning member is a person with disability of at least 40 percent.
• Lower income group households who are eligible but left out from any ongoing government rural housing scheme.

Households whose houses have been fully or severely damaged by natural or man made calamities such as fire, flood, cyclone, earthquake, elephant menace, communal violence or LWE violence are also covered. Victims of river or sea inundation, households relocated for government projects and households staying in sanctuary or reserve forest areas are also eligible. Households staying in pucca houses, households with a regular government or PSU employee, households owning a motorized four wheeler, and households with any member earning more than Rs 15,000 per month are not eligible under the scheme.
