Odisha Electric Vehicle Subsidy Scheme 2024 has been announced by CM Naveen Patnaik. Under this scheme, the state govt. will provide 15% subsidy on purchase of electric vehicles. The main objective of this scheme is to promote purchase of EVs across the state. This subsidy amount would be applicable to 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers and 4 wheelers. Odisha Electric Vehicle Subsidy Scheme 2024
The decision to start Odisha Electric Vehicle Subsidy Scheme 2024 was taken on the suggestions of Niti Aayog. This Odisha EV Subsidy Scheme is in accordance with the Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy 2021 as per the notification issued by the Commerce and Transport Department.
Odisha EV Subsidy Amount
Under the Odisha Electric Vehicle Subsidy Scheme, the state govt. will provide subsidy amount on purchase of EVs which would be as follows:-
- For 2 wheelers, the subsidy amount would be 15% of the cost of two wheeler, upto a maximum of Rs. 5000.
- For 3 wheelers, the subsidy amount would be 15% of the cost for three wheeler, upto a max. of Rs. 10,000.
- For 4 wheelers, the subsidy amount would be 15% of the cost of four wheeler, upto a max. of Rs. 50,000.
Duration of Electric Vehicle Subsidy Scheme in Odisha
The Electric Vehicle Subsidy will be in effect from 1 September 2021 and the amount will be credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries by the RTO where the vehicle is registered. The Odisha EV Subsidy scheme will be in place till 31 December 2025.
Odisha Electric Vehicle Subsidy Portal
A dedicated portal to monitor information relating to sales, credit of purchase incentives and subsidy on loans will be set up to promote purchase of EVs. To promote usage of electric vehicles, the state govt. had announced exemption of registration fees and motor vehicle taxes on all categories of electric vehicles in October 2021.
