If you or someone you know has been in a road accident, you can now get free medical treatment without paying any money upfront. Ministry of Road Transport & Highway under Indian government has started a Cashless Treatment Scheme to help road accident victims get timely and affordable care at select hospitals.

Under this scheme, victims can receive cashless treatment worth up to Rs. 1.5 Lakh at listed hospitals all over the country. The government has included around 30,000 hospitals under this scheme to make sure patients can easily get care wherever they are.

Cashless treatment scheme is started to offer free and immediate medical care to road accident victims in India. Started in May 2025, the scheme covers treatment costs up to rs. 1.5 Lakh at hospitals approved by the government.

If a listed hospital cannot treat you, help will be provided to transfer you to another listed hospital for free treatment. This makes sure that victims get the care they need without worrying about hospital bills in emergencies.
