Mizoram received ₹205.4858 crore as the first instalment under a USD 108 million programme supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for its Universal Healthcare Scheme (MUHCS), after meeting two disbursement-linked indicators.

ADB transferred USD 21.6 million to the Union Ministry of Finance on October 29, which credited the amount to Mizoram on November 5. Of the release, ₹20.54 crore (10%) is a loan and ₹184.93 crore (90%) a grant. Finance Department said the full amount will go to the Healthcare Corpus Fund.

State officials aim to meet at least three more indicators in the current financial year and access about ₹130 crore under the programme. MUHCS gives eligible people cashless treatment of up to ₹5 lakh at government hospitals and empanelled private and church-run facilities within and outside Mizoram.
